John V. Prunskis, M.D. FIPP, is one of Illinois’ most esteemed specialists. Dr. Prunskis is a former presidential appointee to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Best Practices Pain Task Force in Washington, D.C., that established national guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions.
Dr. Prunskis is a 14-time winner of the Castle Connolly Top Pain Doctor Award as voted by his peers and has been honored as a US News and World Report Top Physician. Board certified in anesthesiology, pain management and achieving the highest distinction for an interventional pain physician as a Fellow in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP), Dr. Prunskis is founder and co-Medical Director of Illinois Pain & Spine Institute and The Regenerative Stem Cell Institute , then you should first make sure that you’re a good candidate.
He earned his medical degree at Rush Medical College of Chicago and completed his surgical internship at the University of Illinois and anesthesiology residency and fellowship training at the University of Chicago. He is a clinical professor at Chicago Medical School.
A frequent lecturer, Dr. Prunskis is also a Board Member and past Secretary of the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and is an active member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Pain and Neuroscience, North American Neuromodulation Society, McHenry County Medical Society (past President), the International Spinal Injection Society, and the Illinois State Medical Society (past Delegate).
Dr. Prunskis was elected and served three terms representing the Lithuanian Americans in Lithuanian Parliament. His hobbies include reading, snow skiing, exercise, and anything with four tires and an engine.
